Early results suggest there is interest in a Spanish version of JAFSCD, in increasing Latine reviewers, and mentoring emerging Latine authors. The survey will remain open for the foreseeable future and can be completed HERE.

Latine Food and Farming EC Purpose

The Latine Food and Farming Editorial Circle expands publishing opportunities for Latine scholars, practitioners, and community members working on land access, agricultural labor, food entrepreneurship, food security, and the cultural and institutional dynamics that shape food systems in Latine — Latino/a, Latinx, and Hispanic — communities. Traditional knowledge and lived experience are central to how Latine producers, workers, and organizations sustain their food economies, yet they have too often been treated as outside the bounds of peer-reviewed scholarship.

LFFEC encourages submissions, both peer-reviewed research and non-peer-reviewed viewpoints and "Voices from the Grassroots" essays that present the point of view of nonprofit and community-based organizations. See the JAFSCD Submissions page for more details and to complete a presubmission query form. Mentors are available to work with new authors (apply HERE), and JAFSCD has an English as a Second Language editor who can assist with improving English grammar and syntax.
